Creating a sense of urgency on your website is an excellent strategy to get more clients for your business. Think about it for a second. When you’re surfing the internet looking for a product or service, how often do you think ‘Hmm, that sounds good – I’ll think about it and come back to it later’? Often you might forget to go back to that website. But if the website offers you a special offer only for a limited time, wouldn’t that increase the chances of you making a decision there and then?
Of course, this is easy when you’re selling a product – you just offer a special price for the first 100 customers or until a certain date.
If you’re offering freelance services, you can still use this technique by saying ‘Lock in my special hourly rate for a limited time only’. That would create a sense of urgency in your visitors’ minds.
If you’re getting busy and not taking on many more clients, saying ‘I’m only accepting a couple more clients until I’m fully booked’ can create a sense of urgency because your services are in limited supply.
Of course, you can also use these techniques in offline marketing too, such as on flyers and advertisements.
