Virtual Assistants Jobs – Where Can You Find Virtual Assistants Jobs Without Being Scammed?

By April 26, 2008 Uncategorized 5 Comments

Are you scouring the internet looking for virtual assistants jobs? I guess you may be feeling confused and not sure what is a scam or not.

I’m often asked if I know if any websites that supply legitimate Virtual Assistants jobs. So I’ve tried out a few of them to see what they’re like. Unfortunately, most of them offer jobs which pay very low hourly rates, and are quite restrictive on where the Virtual Assistant has to be based. It’s the very nature of a Virtual Assistant that he or she can work from any location in the world, so, really these jobs should be available to anyone in any location, not just certain countries.

Let’s also take a step back here. The word ‘job’ in itself means that the job seeker is still thinking like an employee. True Virtual Assistants don’t look for jobs. They set up their own business and look for clients. Yes, this is can be hard work, but in the long run you’ll earn more money and reap greater rewards in terms of being your own boss.

    Hi Lisa

Thanks for the blog on where can you get VA jobs without being scammed, I have set up my VA business and have put my website and marketing in place with no results (but it’s early days).
I was feeling despondent about getting any clients and thought about looking for VA jobs, now I know that I have to maintain my independence.
I shall keep telling myself “I am my own boss, it’s my company” and with the help I get from your emails and blogs I will get some clients!

@OutOfOffice: Exactly. It’s the mindset shift from employee to business owner that will really empower you and help you become successful. And of course, it will help you avoid being scammed. Rather than look online for ‘jobs’, you look to establish trusting long-term relationships with clients, as an independent business owner.
